A 51-year-old man faces a charge of aggravated common assault over the alleged incident, which is understood to have been reported by other school staff.

A West Australian education assistant has been charged with assaulting a 15-year-old girl in Bunbury.A 51-year-old man has been charged with aggravated common assaultWA Police confirmed detectives this week charged a 51-year-old man following an incident at the school he was employed at back in February.

The Bunbury Regional Community College is an alternative school for about 120 students classified as being "at educational risk".Bunbury Regional Community College principal Brett Piggott told the ABC he could not comment as the matter was before the courts, and confirmed the man no longer worked at the school.

The man has been charged with aggravated common assault and is due to appear in Bunbury Magistrates Court next month.
