The mothers appeared on a podcast and criticized Columbus Academy leaders about critical race theory in schools. Columbus Academy responded in a statement that the two parents had “waged a public campaign of false and misleading statements and inflammatory attacks” against the school and its employees.
Columbus Academy will begin as a K-8 school, but add a class annually until it reaches K-12. Heart of Ohio Classical Academy will start K-5 and add a class annually. HOCA does not yet have a headmaster.
This is wonderful news. Columbus needs some excellent options for parents who are sick of public school woke indoctrination. The Dispatch article is, frankly, biased.
This article didn't mention that Hillsdale's mission is to spread its curriculum through publicly funded privately managed charter schools. The charter schools will be taxpayer-funded. The Heart of Ohio Classical Academy's office is north of Worthington.
