Summer break is nearly over, and school districts across Texas are still scrambling to hire teachers.

It's been decades since he worked as a teacher, but with his ESL certification, he got an offer on the spot.Across the state, there have been dire warnings of a teacher shortage.

To find out how serious the problem is in North Texas, CBS 11 reached out to local school districts. Out of the ten largest districts in North Texas, four responded.Lewisville ISD had 84. Richardson ISD had 140. Dallas ISD had 240.
