According to the Florida Department of Health, Duval County has seven confirmed cases.

Despite this data, Dr. Jeffrey Goldhagen with UF Health Jacksonville says parents should not panic.

“They should relatively have little concern. What we know today about monkeypox is that it is spread primarily through intimate contact in particular through sexual contact,” said Goldhagen. “At this point in time what we know is that in fact children in schools should be at relatively low very very low risk,” said Goldhagen.

The American Academy of Pediatrics says children make up less than 0.1% of confirmed monkeypox cases. As of Aug. 3,

Monkeypox is nothing for the general population to worry about. It seems to be affecting a specific population and is not spread very easily. Plus the facts are that you don’t die from it. Clam down people monkey pox will be all gone by end of November

In 2003 Monkeypox came into the USA via foreign pet, it hit about 7 states infected a few but govt got under control in 20 days. WHY can't they do it today? Something is not right.
