Pat O’Prey first met his “little brother” Jason back in 1984. “He was eight and I was 18. Now he’s 46 and I’m 56,” O’Prey says, “and whenever we meet, we just pick up where we left off.”
O’Prey learned about YAY from a booth set up in his high school cafeteria and was immediately interested. “I was fortunate to have two parents who loved each other and were dedicated to me and my siblings,” he says, “and I always said I wanted to share that.” The two men consider each other family. “I was there on his wedding day,” O’Prey says. “And whenever I send him a birthday card, I sign it ‘Big Bro Pat.’”
