Like, say, a museum

What a waste of money!

Remember, slow acting acid is a common byproduct of many trees

😂😂😂😂 Snowflakes triggered. SilentSam unc fascists intolerant

I'm pretty sure the freshman dining hall's septic tank will be a suitibly safe location.

A hole in the ground isnt safe enough?

Policy expert here suggests: UNC could sell it. There are ostensibly a lot of civil war buffs, museums, and private centers who would like to have it. The profits could be used for any number of good causes on campus.

The University of North Carolina cannot keep appeasing its conservatives who still think the Civil War was only about state rights by keeping confederate statues. They are a reminders of slavery, racism and segregation too.

Celebrating symbols of Confederacy are like celebrating symbols of Holocaust! Honor those who suffered against evil & prevailed not those who perpetrated evil upon them.

Booo

Better freak out versus taking a logical approach to rectify the situation.

Like a museum where it be part of an exhibit that puts it in its full historical context ?

I expect nothing less from the garbage pit that is North Carolina.

❤️❤️❤️

Safer location for a racist statue?

That's effed up.

UNC proposes new $5.3 million building to house 'Silent Sam' Confederate statueAdministrators at the University of North Carolina are proposing a new $5.3 million building to safely house a controversial Confederate monument that was toppled by protesters in August. ‘Silent Sam’ decision provokes loud response at UNCThe University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill board of trustees approved a plan earlier this week to return a controversial Confederate monument to the campus, despite pleas from many on campus who called it a symbol of racism. That brought protests and objections from many on campus, and complaints also from people who want the statue returned to the prominent location where it has stood for more than a century. I hate the statue. I hate the SJWs more. So let the statue stay as a 🖕 to speech police. Any support of Confederate Symbols should be a hate crime

UNC in turmoil over Silent Sam, the Confederate monument toppled by protestersProtesters plan to attend a meeting of a statewide panel Friday, urging the University of North Carolina System Board of Governors to keep the monument off campus. How about a compromise? A huge plaque affixed to it that says, 'It doesn't pay to be a traitor.' You mean toppled by vandals? Being offended or being upset doesn't give anyone the right to damage property you don't own.

UNC rejects proposal to build new home for 'Silent Sam' Confederate statueThe University of North Carolina has rejected a $5.3 million proposal to build a new home for 'Silent Sam,' the Confederate statue that was toppled by protesters in August. There is no rational ground to link Dylan Roof and this statue but a university campus is no place to demand rational analysis these days. Protect this monument at all costs. It stands to remind the enemies what we can do again if they disrespect Trump.

Board rejects UNC recommendation on Silent Sam, citing concerns about public safety and costA statewide panel did not endorse the recommendation of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Board of Trustees to build a $5.3 million education and history center to house a controversial Confederate monument. Watch WP big government fall I have a solution. It involves a sledgehammer and an angle grinder. Ohhhh nooooo somebody’s gonna have to find another statue honoring traitors who tried to destroy our country 150yrs ago because they wanted to own black people as slaves. “Liberals disrespecting our heritage nooo 😭 quick somebody call the Waaambulance”

UNC chancellor says Confederate monument Silent Sam must go — and so will sheThe University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's chancellor, Carol Folt, announced Monday that she would resign at the end of the academic year. “The presence of the remaining parts of the monument on campus poses a continuing threat both to the personal safety and well-being of our community” [..] No it doesn't. Violent people pushing their will aggressively pose a threat. Removing history won’t change it. Dialogue about it will change the future. 😮 smh at the lib sjws!
