Sounds like ALP would have Aust live in a totalitarian society where govt dictates what independent schools can and cannot do.

Freedom of association. If don't wish to associate with some people in society then cannot be forced to associate. Also, if do wish to associate with each other then cannot be stopped from associating. Non-govt schools have a right to decide who they admit or not. ALP's wrong.
