We are talking teenagers here, they can get a little carried away at times so they need to be advised about making better comments and not aggressive and rude signs.

So let every student put their name to their statement and have it recorded for future character reference ! Further, hatred is a vicious word. I doubt most of the students understand what they are really saying but it could come back to bite them

Time for Libs to disappear on to the coal slag heap of history.

Reality of it is corrupt anarchist organisation getup! And extremists like the greens love weaving a sentinel of lies to cause disruption and ill inform the protestors who jump on the wagon without the full analysis. Puppets to organised agendas. Shame on exploiting kids to doit

I think the public Majority were Pro the protest during school hours.

Scott wont listen to you mate as you r not a voting age He is a coal slave Lib party is bankrupt party corrupted by coal$

In protests I have attended over a period of 40 years there is always extreme signs and behaviours by a tiny minority in attendance. Making an issue of these BEFORE reporting on the main point of the rally is nit-picking and distorting the positive worth of the event. Go kids!

The response from the public would have been a lot more positive if they protested after school. I am still not sure what they are protesting. Are they saying that the LNP policy of a 26% renewable target is ignoring climate change?

Has anyone told these kids that the Australian government has a 28% renewable energy target, subsiding renewables by billion of dollars a year, have a ETS in place and signed the UN’s Paris Agreement? No. Didn’t think so. Parents and teachers should be ashamed.

Why the school strike is a mistake, by a student worried by climate changeClimate change is an extremely important issue that needs to be acted upon, but a student strike is not an effective way of “protesting” against the government. Fair enough. But it’s not one or the other. You can do both. Protest and take tangible action. One does not preclude the other. What is misguided is belittling these protests. Listen to these kids now or be ignored when they are grown.
