Researchers from Rutgers University report in a new study that antibiotic use in young children could cause lifelong allergies and asthma issues.

A new study has found that early antibiotic use in children could cause issues with allergies and asthma.

In collaboration with researchers from New York University and the University of Zurich, the study was published in the journal Mucosal Immunology on July 16. Mice given any of the antibiotics, notably a commonly prescribed one called azithromycin, showed increased immunological reactions, or allergies.
