If you feel that covid poses a health risk in the classroom that you teach in, there's an avenue and it's called EH&S. You have the right to refuse unsafe work. Exercise your right and the MOE will have to investigate. Then we can put this bullshit to bed once an for all.

There have been no covid deaths in children. No need to jab children or mask them. You have less than 1% chance of dying with covid as long as you also have other health issues and are usually elderly. More are dying from jabs and Vax injuries than with covid
Students are extremely unlikely to become seriously ill from COVID regardless of vax status. They don’t need to be muzzled with useless masks either. Time to start following the science and data we have so far and carry on with maskless in person classes for the good of all.

There has been no issues with in-person learning. Kids are not getting any more sick then they were before COVID. No kids hospitalized or dying. We did the 'no masks' thing and there was no spike in cases. Let get back to normal please.

Lecce mandated online courses although MoE has decades of evidence that they be LIMITED in scope only for distance, illness, etc, due to poor quality. He then applied it to all 2.2M students, confirming the earlier evidence of poor results. Now he will mess up extracurriculars.

It is not a 'voluntary' deal with the unions; it is a negotiated contract. Let's not assume that all students need to 'catch up'. Teachers worked hard at covering core content.
No other profession complained more during the pandemic than the teachers did, sadly in Ontario kids school closures were higher than any other jurisdiction in North America. We now have a whole generation of kids who will never catch up.

He can only commit to that by agreeing to a reasonable contract. Current extra curriculars are just that, extra... I ran MANY of them. They are not in contracts just as volunteer work is not a requirement in most jobs. Copy US and pay for extras? Let’s not go that direction.
