This is absolute insanity. So much could go wrong with this. Not to mention, if teachers wanted to go into security/ law enforcement, they would have. Let teachers teach.

The teacher who was shot in Texas reached for her phone to dial 911 but was shot before she could pull it out. So, would we just keep the gun aimed at our door while we teach each day? Where would I leave the gun for a sub, with my lesson plans? stupididea
There is something wrong with Mastriano. An armed citizen militia will lead to a disaster!!! The trained Uvalde police couldn’t even take down a shooter, THERE IS EVERYTHING WRONG ABOUT MASTRIANO FOR GOVERNOR!

Armed teachers is ridiculous. If teachers wanted to carry they wouldn't be teachers. Harden the schools and add more armed security
So he doesn't trust teachers to teach history or sex ed or science or literature or make curriculum decisions or basically do any aspect of their jobs but he trusts them not to accidentally (or intentionally...lets be real here) shoot students and coworkers?
28 states have a Marshal Program: About 36% of school districts in Texas allow certified trained staff to carry firearms on school property. Uvalde wasn’t one of them. I will bet they will now.

As the mother of a child in a PA school, this is absolutely terrifying
400 trained police officers in Uvalde wouldn't stop an armed man, yet he expects a teacher to? Many teachers are already leaving. The shortage will become worse if this is enacted
Mastriano is a menace. Has he spoken with teachers about this? My beloved late wife was a teacher, I wouldn't have trusted her with a gun at a gun range. Guns were just not in her, and I'm sure there are millions of other teachers who are in the same situation.
