VICE President Sara Duterte-Carpio strongly condemned the shooting incident inside the Ateneo de Manila University on Sunday afternoon, her spokesperson Atty. Reynold Munsayac said.'Such an act of violence should have no place in our society, especially in a place of learning — which is supposed to be considered a safe space for everyone, for the students mainly,' he added.

The Ateneo de Manila University also condemned the shooting incident.'The suspect was apprehended by the police shortly after, and is now in the custody of the Quezon City Police District,' it said in a statement.The university extended its condolences to the families of the victims, and expressed hope that justice will be swiftly served.
