From an instantly iconic homage to “Akira” to myriad nods at Spielberg, Jordan Peele’s latest movie is a collage of cinematic history.

The Haywoods still got to keep some sweetcrew swag, though, as seen in pivotal scenes later in the film.

The 1988 Japanese anime film has inspired countless writers and directors with its wildly stylish take on cyberpunk futurism. But the film’s most memorable moment is its iconic motorway trick.
