PASIR GUDANG: After over a decade of waiting, a Tamil school in Bandar Seri Alam here has finally opened its doors to pupils living nearby.SJK(T) Bandar Seri Alam school action committee chairman R. Sabapathy said that plans for the construction of the school started in 2009.

“We faced many issues along the way, and the site for the school was changed twice before construction finally began.”

“The reopening was delayed again last year, as unfortunately, the school was hit by a landslide that affected its fencing,” he said.“Finally, in March this year, we received the Certificate of Practical Completion from the Education Ministry following a meeting with Deputy Education Minister Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon,” he said.

“We are targeting at least 300 pupils in the next academic year,” he said, adding that a kindergarten would also begin taking in pupils next year.
