JOHOR BARU: Despite recent increases in living expenses, the Higher Education Ministry has made an initiative to offer food to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) students at a lower price.

The Malaysian Family Student Food Basket Programme, which has been serving meals for as low as RM3.50 since Monday , has had a big positive impact on the public, especially students.

The Universiti Teknologi Malaysia vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Ahmad Fauzi Ismail said that with this kind of help, students can now fully focus on their academics without worrying about the cost of buying food. "In the campus of Johor Baru, the menu is available at three particular cafeterias," he said in a statement on Thursday .

He believed that at the very least, this programme could lessen the financial strain that students experience while buying their daily meals. "In addition, management of UTM will continuously monitor the given food's quality and price," he said."According to the feedback, UTM students were pleased with the Malaysian Family Student Love Menu programme," he said.
