People who reported using cannabis within the last year had much greater odds of being admitted to hospital or visiting the emergency room than people who did not use the drug, according to a, suggesting recreational weed might not be as harmless as many think amid an increasing push towards legalization.

Overall, cannabis users were 22% more likely to visit the ER or be hospitalized, the researchers found, even when factors like age, gender and other health issues were taken into account. Acute trauma was the most common cause of ER visit or hospitalization among cannabis users, followed by respiratory problems and gastrointestinal issues .

The results point to serious health risks associated with cannabis consumption and suggest rising recreational use around the world “is not benign” and should be curtailed. What was behind the study’s findings. As the study was observational, the researchers stress its findings cannot be used to say cannabis use caused the higher rates of hospitalizations and ER visits. The findings could be explained by factors researchers didn't measure or account for in their analysis, they said.

In my opinion, if someone sells high-addictive drugs in one gram like this should face death penalty. Because they will destroy next generations from body to mind.

The evidence suggests Trump is guilty of Treason. Any confirmation? Any marijuana deaths yet? 400,000 Alcohol and Tobacco deaths a year for 50 years... Anything like that?

Shocking

This is NOT causative, as explained in the study... (((yawn)))... next?

Yeah, let’s revisit this in 20 years, I bet it will be linked to some kind of heart disease. Many individuals are already addicted so it begs the question what is really recreational use.

LOL this article is silly... the data is about ER visits and the likelihood of visits... haha let me go take my bong rips now then crush some Thai Food and not go to the ER

That's so weird. It's been around longer than humans. Our ancestors have always used it. There are all kinds of ancient texts, docs, drawings that depict its usage. Some scientific theories believe it helped evolve pre-humans. Did something change?
