The physical building can be made to disappear, but the horror of the day and the culpability of people intrusted to protect the children will never go away.
All of a sudden the victims feelings are of paramount concern? After they left them all in there for an hour with a murdering maniac armed to the teeth? I'm highly skeptical of their motives to reduce the building to rubble.
So ridiculous.
Hundreds of kids and staff were terrorized in that building by the sound of shots and being forced into hiding. Their friends died. They are all forever changed. How could anyone expect them to walk back in there where this happened.
Fucking stupid. Save the money and use it on heightened security and trained officers.

They should demolish the Uvalde Police Department while they're at it.
Remake it into a community center, dedicated to the teachers and students. That would be a much better use for it and a place of service. Build a new school nearby.
