A man was found in a hotel room Saturday with written warnings about potentially hazardous material, according to LAFD.

A man was hospitalized today after being found unresponsive in a University City hotel room where fentanyl-laced heroin was discovered and had to be removed by a hazardous materials team.

A call from the Sheraton Universal hotel at 333 Universal Hollywood Drive was received at 4:21 p.m., according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey. The man, whose identity was not disclosed, had left a handwritten note warning that there was potentially hazardous material in the room, Humphrey said. An LAFD Hazardous Materials team was called to the scene and identified the material as black tar heroin laced with fentanyl. The man was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, he said.

The ninth floor of the Sheraton was isolated and the other guests were told to shelter in place, but no one else was affected, he said. The scene was placed under the control by Los Angeles police and the L.A. County Health Hazmat unit to clean up the material with the help of a private-sector vendor.that I have read and agree
