Parents in Fairfax, Virginia, rallied ahead of a school board meeting to sound off on potential changes to sex-ed classes and increased penalties for students for 'misgendering.'

Parents in Fairfax, Va., rallied ahead of a school board meeting to sound off on potential changes to family life education classes and increased penalties for students for "misgendering."- Despite the Fairfax County school board's decision to punt a controversial vote on changes to family life education classes to June, parents showed up in full force at Luther Jackson Middle School at last Thursday's meeting.

"I asked my son this morning what he was going to learn," Jeff told Fox News Digital at a rally ahead of the school board meeting."He said, ‘math, science, language arts, writing. And he said, ’oh, science.' That's what we want to hear, right? We don't want to hear, ‘I got punished today because I called somebody by the wrong pronoun. Or what this regulation identifies as 'malicious misgendering.

"They're afraid because hey, I'm a mother bear," McCauley said, pointing to her t-shirt that read,"Beware the Mama Bear.""Beware the mother bears. Mother bears and Papa bears are coming out because we care about the future of our country. We care about our children."Fairfax parent Thomas Ferguson agreed some issues in the classroom are too much, too soon for young, impressionable minds.

"So, to try to tackle these politically charged, very dynamic, sort of social hot buttons, at such a young age, seems very inappropriate, especially when a parent should be the first person to actually have those types of conversations with their child," Ferguson said. Parent Stacy Langton argued that having co-ed sex-ed classes would make the students"uncomfortable." As for the penalties against misgendering, Langton said it could just be cases where kids are"goofing off."

LIVE: St. Johns County School Board committee discusses another set of controversial booksHAPPENING NOW: A St. Johns County School Board committee is meeting to discuss more books parents are trying to get removed from school libraries. The Fox News effect has found its way into schools now. Libraries with less books in them lead to a society full of ignorant adults. Nobody has ever looked back on a book burning with the benefit of hindsight and thought the people involved were anything but schmucks. You know that this type of parents kids don't read anyways. So what are they doing all this posturing for? I want to see the stats on the number of books and type each of these parents kids checked out.

After gay Pride flag flap, N.J. school fills windows with rainbow bannersThe Passaic board of education restricted the flying of flags outside schools this year. One school found a way around the rule. You got a problemwiddat? It would’ve been truly amazing if the students had placed the American flag in the school’s front windows. It would’ve showed solidarity with all Americans, especially in light of the turmoil that has been taking place recently. One thing I would love to know, what the heck is 'The Christian Flag' he talks about? The Vatican flag,? The banner of some denomination? Didn't know Jesus has a flag, who knew?

Parents protest policy keeping unvaccinated Granada Hills Charter High School students from attending graduationParents and students rallied outside of Granada Hills Charter High School on Tuesday to protest a policy that will bar unvaccinated students from participating in graduation ceremonies. Easy solution: Get vaccinated. ...and grow up. It can't be the way entitled YOU wants it to be all the time. My 16 year old had to have all her vaccinations before being allowed to go to public school. Ever since kindergarten. Precedent has been established. This is just another vaccine against a deadly virus. Where’s their sense of community, responsibility, empathy? Disgusting. Big Brother will punish your for not playing Russian Roulette with your lives.
