Saratoga’s Lucas Dennis pitched a second consecutive no-hitter and also had two hits.

Saratoga baseball player Lucas Dennis, the runner-up in last week’s voting, is the Bay Area News Group athlete of the week for May 9-15 after he received 10,196 votes at the 5 p.m. deadline Wednesday.

Santa Clara track and field athlete Liam Brennan placed second and Monta Vista volleyball player Lance Tong was third.Dennis pitched a no-hitter for the second consecutive week. The junior held Fremont-Sunnyvale hitless with nine strikeouts and five walks one week after Lynbrook was unable to get a hit against him.To nominate an athlete for next week’s honor, emailby coaches/team statisticians for consideration.
