On Saturday, the board apologized to students and families for the method of enforcement, which targeted mostly girls – they were told to bend their knees upwards to check whether their clothes were long enough – and promised to review its dress code policy. “When it comes to a dress code at schools, there is always going to be an element of subjectivity that ultimately will unfairly target young women and girls,” said Ms. Kitts.
“They told me to cover up because I have a bigger chest area … they claimed that it’s distracting to boys,” said Cloe. “This is not a new issue, people have been calling out how draconian these dress codes are and how often they’re used to shame, blame and police young women’s bodies,” said Ms. Khan, adding that Black, Indigenous and transgender people are also disproportionately affected by dress codes.

Parents, schools and our culture need to teach boys to control themselves. Girls shouldn’t be blamed for growing up and ‘boys will be boys’ is no longer a tenable excuse for inappropriate behaviour.
Easier to defund Catholic schools from receiving public money.
Ah poor babies can't handle the real world. Schools prepare students for life after school. Most companies have a dress code. If your school has a code of conduct and a dress code follow the rules. You knew they existed before you went there.
The students should walk out until the dress code is abandoned and written apologies are received from the school and police.
