Labour Against Private Schools co-founder Steven Longden asks "which planet" Education Secretary Nadhim Zahawi is on in criticising universities who "tilt the system away from children who are performing".

after Cambridge University vice-chancellor Professor Stephen Toope told private schools to accept they will get fewer students into Oxbridge in the future. Mr Zahawi, however, said it was the job of Government to reduce the "attainment gap" between the state and private sectors by increasing the quality of state schools.

"State schools, on average, spend about £5,500 on secondary school students, your average private school spends about £15,000.

Matthew_Wright Actually you are wrong. Both my children go to private school and they work bloody hard and we have sacrificed a lot in terms of finances. You need to get you facts right before you start commenting about this. Not all parents have substantial money. A lot of it is sacrifice

Zahawi rejects idea Oxbridge should ‘tilt system’ to accept more state pupilsEducation secretary says admissions should be based on merit and focus should be on improving schools Of course he does. That would be an existential threat to the lynchpin of a system that has fooled the gullible into believing that an unregulated oligarchy with a ghost,'constitution' and an elected dictatorship cum rigged electoral system is somehow a democracy. Risible. Perish the thought, not enough spaces for rich people's kids if they do that, anyone would think this was an actual meritocracy Curr is now knowledged based: fit for the 19th not 21st cent. Once Primary schools had cookers and playing fields. Cooking was an integral part of a Skills based curr, as were pretend shops and money. A third of all pupils now leave with nothing. It's a system based on Failure.

Nadhim Zahawi: ‘Trans pupils should wear uniform they want — but sport is different’Nadhim Zahawi, the education secretary, has lost weight. Earlier this year he weighed in at 16 stone and was told by his doctor that he was obese and close to Yes through corruption and alignment with WEF 'once parents and health experts agree that a child is a trans child”. The child decides if they are trans, no one else. Many parents of trans children are in denial and will not allow their child to meet health professionals. True🌞GOOD LUCK at the age of 11.However he and his family would NOT be welcome now! that also goes for the family of Ms Patel, does SHE ever reflect on HER families LUCK? My parents & parents of the author of this article paid for their success back then,in the form of Taxes!

Nadhim Zahawi: ‘Be proud of private education’Britain should be “very proud” of its private schools and not “tilt the system” to ensure more pupils from state schools are admitted to Oxbridge, the educatio Beginning to think if the newspapers and Conservative Party could just promise not to talk about Oxford or Cambridge for one week, the UK would be a more healthy place. Anything that threatens the ‘money in, Oxbridge admissions out’ system is going to be sat on. This is a mind-boggling take from the person in charge of state education, explaining much about the worst aspects of a country governed by snobbish, arrogant overgrown schoolboys.
