THE Department of Education has proposed to the Commission on Elections the grant of an additional pay of P3,000 across the board as compensation for the extra hours poll workers rendered on election day.
The department gave assurances that it is finding ways to further compensate teachers and non-teaching personnel for their services during the elections, guided by the policies of the Department of Budget and Management and the Commission of Audit and with the help of Congress.More than 600,000 teaching and non-teaching staff served in the national elections on May 9, 2022. The Education department said that 37,219 public schools were used as voting centers.
