This ruling, the first on the merits of vaccine mandate policies in Ontario courts, focused on McMaster University’s decision-making process when it rejected vaccine exemption requests from the students.
Lorian Hardcastle, a health law expert at the University of Calgary law school, told the National Post this may be the first in a wave of COVID-19 related cases making their way into the courts. “I expect to see, in the coming months, various cases looking at not only vaccines but issues around masking and freedom of assembly,” Hardcastle said.
Last fall, when McMaster University implemented mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations, the four students applied for vaccine exemptions on religious grounds, arguing it violated their God-given right to bodily autonomy. The exemptions were rejected by the university and the students were unenrolled from their courses until they were vaccinated or the mandate ended. In court, McMaster University’s counsel argued the students were using “political objections dressed up as religious argument.”
That’s just wrong. Don’t even apply at any University that has that rule and see how fast they get rid of it. If no one goes
It’ll go to a federal court.
So no human rights in Canada? Why do they need to be injected with something that becomes ineffective in a few weeks?
Those 4 should be happy that they were targeted for their beliefs. Thats what the Bible says that they should expect. Next
Disgusting. Travesty of justice.
I am a catholic and that is BS getting an exemption I am glad the courts supported the mandate
Old judge rules that kids should be jabbed to keep himself safe. Progress!
