ASUU Strike: Protesting OAU students shut down Ife-Ibadan road

The students who converged at their campus gate this morning marched down to the major highway which connects commuters traveling from Ife to Ibadan and vice versa.gathered that the students, who converged under the aegis of Fund Education coalition, vowed to continue the protests from today till their demands would be met by the Federal Go0vernment.

The students held placards bearing various inscriptions like “Fund Education Now”, “Education is not a Scam” among others, as they chanted “End ASUU Strike”. They equally seemed to be proceeding towards a major roundabout, the popular OUI roundabout at Oduduwa University, Ipetumodu.See some pictures of the protesting OAU students:

That’s not where to go, all of them should mobilize to the airport in Abuja, Lagos and Port Hartcourt and block the road to these airports, that’s only the way they’ll take them serious. This one is initial gra gra, it’s an old method abeg, it doesn’t work

This is what students should have done few weeks into this strike.

NANS should take these protests to major airports in Nigeria if they want to be heard. Road protests would not achieve any significant result.

I hereby beg the government to do something positive about this ASUU strike before they start killing our student now demonstrating.

I wish I can speak to the Executives of the students union. Cuz this won’t work, na we we dey use the highways. Na we go dey disturb ourselves with d highways gridlocks. Commissioners and Ministers(edu), Govs no get office? That’s how u speak to be heard at the top

They better be collecting toll gate money so they can start paying their ASUN lecturers, jare. What's the purpose of students blocking Ife-Ibadan road for God's sake?
