The guidance states that content notes "enable students to take the necessary steps to engage safely and with minimal psychological distress".
The advice is not prescriptive, but staff are urged to follow it to make campus an "inclusive environment". The handbook says the warnings should be included at appropriate points on reading lists, in course handbooks, in emails before lectures, during exams and verbally during classes. The university has been accused of discouraging discussion about important subjects.
Prof Arif Ahmed, a reader in philosophy at Cambridge, told The Telegraph students should be prepared to "encounter speech that you find profoundly shocking, disturbing or offensive".Dr James Orr, an assistant professor of philosophy of religion at the university, also hit out at the guidance, saying it came close to "coddling students".
There’s a war on. There’s a war on. There’s a war on.
LOL
It honestly baffles me how the 1% snowflake community has such a loud voice.
Isn’t it in the interests of society to toughen these people up a little? I know they avoid showing it on TV because people cry but we live in a world where wildebeest are torn apart by lions. We can’t ask the Russians to level Mariupol quietly because it’s disturbing people.
Thing is trigger warning is accurate as that generation is triggered by everything!
What a load of bollocks
Wokey Dokey....
Is this latest generation the weakest and most feeble we have ever produced? Was it something in the water?
Stupid as all hell. I'm glad the pendulum seems to be swinging back towards normality though. Since Musk took over twitter I have seen a lot more common sense on here pushing back against the woke/far left/anti-human/anti-family agenda.
So now we have trigger warnings for trigger warnings?
Is this guidance from, Queen of the snowflakes, Oliver Dowden by any chance?!
How is this news?
