A new period drama, an investigation of British history, and more are among our May highlights:

There's a huge amount of worthwhile TV out there nowadays, so it can be hard to choose what to watch. But who better to recommend shows than the person who programs them?, WTTW’s Head of Programming and Pledge, constructs the WTTW schedule by searching through offerings from many different sources which include the national PBS network, the BBC, and independent filmmakers to put together a varied and engaging broadcast schedule.

Vivien Epstein may be a hairdresser when she moves to London in pursuit of an ex-boyfriend, but his disappearance leads her to take up his work: going undercover in a neo-Nazi group in order to provide information about their activities to Jewish activists. The four-part series is based on some real history of London during the 1960s. Lowell High School in San Francisco is known as one of the best public schools in the country.

Gloria Estefan, Boyz II Men, Chris Stapleton, and Miguel are among the stars who perform at this concert and ceremony honoring Lionel Richie as he receives an award that has gone to the likes of Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, and Carole King.
