Houston's secondary overhaul gives them options for 2022.

“It might take four or five scholarships to replace those two,” defensive coordinator/associate head coach Doug Belk said. “At the end of the day, I have a lot of confidence in the guys we have on campus.” Jayce Rogers is slotted at nickel as the Cougars play with three cornerbacks most of the game. Rogers offers versatility with the ability to play all over the secondary, including safety and in dime package.Belk said the Cougars will have more length in the secondary with Green , Mark Wilson and newcomers Abdul-Lateef Audu and Moses Alexander all taller than 6 feet and Hogan and Antonio Brooks at 5-11.
