Indications emerged yesterday that the Federal Government may have implemented the “no work, no pay” policy for the striking university-based unions.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, had embarked on a four week warning strike on February 14 which was extended at its expiration, following the alleged failure of government to address the contentious issues that led to the strike. Confirming this, the President of NAAT, Comrade Ibeji Nwokoma, said members of his union were not paid full salaries in March.
The NAAT President also told Vanguard that instead of inviting the striking university workers for a dialogue over the contentious issues, the government had gone ahead to implement the ‘no work, no salary ‘ policy.
They have taken their children abroad.

That's very Good.Bcuz Asuu I what ever problem they have with FG.Why can't they Look back and see the future of the country and it's citizens.
Education is the least in the hierarchy of priority in Nigeria. Corruption, greed, banditry, politicking and clueless top the executive agenda.
Is there ever a law in Nigeria, and how does it works. Let them follow what the law says about industrial action or strike. These our leaders are heartless, foolish, selfish and brainless set of people.
Good...why would they be paid when on strike.
And the Minister of labor clamouring for the presidency. Joker. Away with APC
Some stupid students still will support
This is high level of show of hate on education. Research institute have been on strike close to a year and the same govt still pay them salary. Well not surprised either cos the number one citizen of this country was once queried of certificate scandal.
Is the stoppage of salary the solution to the lingering problem? FG should find a lasting solution to this problem.
Before what were they expecting
Una go dey house dey flenjo with salary. Children go dey house dey torture. Una father
ASUU is another problem , it is not every time , strike. Every sector is under funded why must they think other sectors be forgotten , govt is not doing well but they are compounding d problem for parents and students. They should not pay them.
ÀÀ
The same lecturers we be the chief collating officer for inec during election and even rig elections for politicians that don't give a damn about them... Our mumu never do
Why can't d government just settle d bills
Salaries they'll still at the end of the day? FG should look beyond salaries & sort ASUU out so that students can go back to school. We can't continue operating like this forever. I don't know why we're so wicked as a people.
Attentions will be more on the election but I hold someone will shift ground for the sake of the students ASUUstrike xoxonft nft
ASUU wants fed govt dash them NNPC and LNG thats only when peace can reign. Heartless teachers
Good. No work No pay.
Many students don dey learn handwork... Escape route atleast
Omo, na now you go see lecturer doing conductor work from Sango to Oshodi
FG should pay them, has any governor, senator or members of house of assembly go on strike before, he dy government can pay themselves for doing nothing they should pay ASUU,
I strongly support this, no work no pay because it is only the students that are at disadvantage.
They stoped salaries, and go to media and appeal for the strike to be call off. Confused people.
ReferendumNow zoo people
This ASUU strike is for the DETRIMENT of STUDENTS and PARENTS. If ASUU can't sacrifice for the sake of FG let it be for the sake of students. I advise any ASUU Lecturer to resign if FG conditions do not favour him/her. Then they will know this is Nigerian.
Good !
No work no pay policy would have been averted if government over the years kept their part of bargain... Complicating issues more and more
There's no problem without solution, are u suffering from Diabetes or you know someone who is suffering from Diabetes? There's good news for them today, with my powerful Herbal mixture,I can cure Diabetes in less than two weeks, that weakness, weak erection nd half blindness will go.
FG and ASUU please just let the students return to class.. this thing u guys are doing is very bad o..
SIMPLE.there must be a structure on ground to stop the excesses by lecturers.
It is unfortunate. So the politicians wants to use hunger as a tool to make the lecturers compromise there stand. They don't want any person or union to protest, so that their nakedness will be exposed. This government should bury her head in shame.
What kind of government is this? God will judge
The FG has violated the Labour law and no one is saying anything
FG can waste funds on things that will not benefit the masses but can't do something tangible about this strike.
Let's see the real nigga btw FG and ASUU... Students life's doesn't concern them before sef🙆♂️
Making it more complex, I swear🤔
ASUU should understand that what we have as government in nigeria is boko haram government. There script of the government is very clear- our children must not have education. If ASUU continues with the strike, we may may breeding a new generation of boko haram and bandits.
Gengen movement go start. Those that like to fornicate in school can use this time to rehabilitate yourself. No more Joint hookup, party or Overnight. Aunty, Uncle....Go help mama and papa pls. If u lie say you dey go somewhere n na boyfriend place u dey visit, ant go bit u IJN.
Lol joke of a country even when they are working yet no salary
Stopped or not they will still be paid as arrears. FG is just compounding the problem.
Aswear this matter between FG and ASUU is better resolved in court.
This is very good development. You can't be collecting salary for a work you doesn't do.

So, they have b receiving free salary all this while without working for it? Their salaries should have be stopped from day one of the strike 🙂🙂
Smoking cigarettes in a filling station.
Might as well. Can’t be paying for waywardness. They don’t want to work under 🇳🇬 economic conditions and what the economy can support, they can leave for elsewhere, wherever they think is flowing with milk and honey.
ASUU should be able to take care of their members from the investments made from dues plaid by the members. In South Africa, etc the trade unions use to pay salaries of workers when they're on strike actions.
But busy talking about election twenty three which can never hold
Making matters worse
Nigeria needs a clean up
Another wahala 🤣🤣
