The Supreme Court has turned away a plea from parents to block a new admissions policy at a prestigious high school in northern Virginia that a lower court has found discriminates against Asian American students.

Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United StatesWASHINGTON —

Justices Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch and Clarence Thomas said they would have granted the request from the parents' group, Coalition for TJ, to suspend the admissions policy. Asian American students constituted more than 70% of the student body. Under the new policy, used to admit the school’s current freshman class, Asian American representation decreased to 54%. Black students increased from 1% to 7% and Hispanic representation increased from 3% to 11%.

Supreme Court majority sympathetic to coach who prayed at midfieldThe Supreme Court’s conservative justices seemed sympathetic to a former high school football coach who lost his job after leading postgame prayers at midfield, but the path to a decision is complicated. Sympathetic = law = I guess? Why does the supreme court have anything to do with religion? Is seems religion is a cop-out for the weak minded. Yeah, id be pretty pissed as a parent if some coach were trying to indoctrinate my kid into christianity by forcing him to pray after a game. Keep your politics and religion out of school. I’m sure his supporters would think different if the coach was a Muslim. I wouldn’t.
