The field is set for Garland’s city council election on May 7. Two of the council’s nine seats are up for grabs.

Both District 1 council member Jeff Bass and District 4 council member B. J. Williams were running unopposed to keep their seats. At a March 1 meeting, City Council declared them elected for office.

Neither Bass nor Williams’ names will appear on voters’ ballots in May.Larry Glick and Robert Duckworth are running for the Place 1 seat. Johnny Beach and Linda Griffin are running unopposed for Place 2 and 3, respectively.
