Premier Dominic Perrottet says NSW and Victoria will work in lockstep to consider relaxing household contact rules | lucy_carroll AlexSmithSMH

Premier Dominic Perrottet on Friday said Victoria and NSW would work in lockstep when considering relaxing requirements for household contacts to isolate for seven days, adding that “the faster we can get to a point where the close contact rule is relaxed, the better.”across the state throughout February and March.

“Whatever decisions are being considered they will be made only after consultation with the Victorian Government to ensure coordination between the two major states,” the spokesperson said. The Victorian government is looking to scrap some remaining pandemic restrictions once the Omicron wave has passed the peak, with modelling showing numbers are expected to peak within weeks and enter a period of slow decline.

But a spokesperson for Mr Hazzard said there were also concerns that infections had plateaued across the state, and may continue to do so for longer than anticipated. The Australian Health Protection Principal Committee on March 31 recommended a “nationally consistent, risk-based transition” to removing rules for close contacts of COVID-19 cases to quarantine, following the peak of the BA.2 wave.“Following the peak impact of the BA.2 wave, quarantine will be replaced by other measures,” the statement read. “The appropriate time for any changes will be in the weeks following the anticipated peak of the current BA.2 variant of concern surge.

lucy_carroll AlexSmithSMH With all the Federal noise I forgot about this clown, last I recall he was on about a 1 in 1000 year flood !

lucy_carroll AlexSmithSMH just as well our man is getting advice from up stairs

lucy_carroll AlexSmithSMH At present the close contact rules are having greater damage then the virus itself. Quite literally the cure is worse then the disease at the moment.

lucy_carroll AlexSmithSMH Nup I don't believe that

lucy_carroll AlexSmithSMH Probably not a great idea. ⬇️

lucy_carroll AlexSmithSMH What we know from Dom_Perrottet 's decisions is that the population has more covidnsw and that hospitalizations are up

lucy_carroll AlexSmithSMH Bad idea since deltacron has just shown up in NSW, just saying.

lucy_carroll AlexSmithSMH There’s so much rain nobody can go outside to mingle

lucy_carroll AlexSmithSMH Peak? Daily cases went from 3000 to 20000+ the last time he has some idiotic lightbulb moment on covid management! What is he aiming this time? 60000?

lucy_carroll AlexSmithSMH Gee how will you manage to spin this as Liberal Premier good/ALP Premier evil?

lucy_carroll AlexSmithSMH Are we in the 6th wave yet? Wouldn’t it be a novel idea to mandate masks? Just because someone has had Covid doesn’t make them immune. The more often you catch Covid the more damage is permanently done to your health. Covid is airborne. Covid is a vascular disease

lucy_carroll AlexSmithSMH Hurry the fuck up we don’t isolate for a flu or a cold why do we even need to Isolate in 2022

lucy_carroll AlexSmithSMH Dom_Perrottet FYI

lucy_carroll AlexSmithSMH You can’t make this up. Every time when covid situation seems getting better, Dominic jumps in and ruins it. Every time

lucy_carroll AlexSmithSMH How does he even know it’s peaked when there’s no discernible pattern of peak and trough? 🐵

lucy_carroll AlexSmithSMH ~20,000 cases per day! Can we just slow down on letting it rip for a second?! Please!?
