NSW Mid North Coast tourism businesses say they've experienced some of their worst-ever trading conditions this year, but they hope the school holidays will change that.

The NSW Mid North Coast is a favourite holiday destination every Easter; this year, flood-affected tourism operators in the region are counting on it.

The business has had to cancel a record number of snorkelling and scuba trips this year due to rain, heavy seas and, more recently, the devastating floods.Dangerous ocean conditions at Gallows Beach, Coffs Harbour, last week."We've been here 25 years and we've never had to cancel boats like I've done this year due to weather."

Operators like Mr Davey are now pinning their hopes on better conditions for the Easter holidays, and tourists still visiting."Forward bookings at the moment are quite low."'We can see the light' Ms Beaton said she had many cancellations due to customer concerns about rain, roads and emergency warnings.

Yet another reason to stop this nonsense of everybody and their dog heading to the same holiday destinations on the same weekend. Give ppl options to take holidays at other times instead of this colonial hangover of making everyone celebrate christian holy days.
