McGill students vote overwhelmingly for change to Redmen team nicknameThe school says it is for the red uniforms and their founder’s origins. But in the 1950s, the name took on a different sense, with teams casually called the ‘Indians’ or the &821… The era of being offended. If a name like Redmen truly offends and bothers you, you might need to check your life. Its the new fab, be offended by something, yell and scream you are offended by it and get pussy administrations to cave in to your demands. Pathetic Disgusting It is about time!

McGill students vote to scrap Redmen team nameThe result embroils the university in a continent-wide debate over the use of Indigenous themes for sports teams it was a label that never made sense for the university. aside from being populated by sheltered, snobbish private school grown babies. they'd be better with something like 'moving to toronto after graduation' or 'snowflakes' or 'Elitey McEliteface' As a mcgillu alumnus, I support this move. Well obviously those offended students have not been using enough grass .. They could always use the special area for stress related time.. Our next generation! Imagine!!

McGill students vote overwhelmingly for change to Redmen team nicknamePressure is growing on McGill University to shed its sports teams' Redmen nickname after students voted overwhelmingly in favour of the change in a referendum. Good for you McGill Hopefully the adminstration follows the will of the student body as expressed in this plebiscite and also it's previous vote to officially name the Shatner building! shatner Great Idea. This will ensure that every aboriginal living in Canada will never have to concern themselves with ever feeling the harsh effects of life. In any way shape or form. And tuition will actually drop as we all know replacing things like these can be done at minus cost.

McGill to announce decision on contentious Redmen team name in JanuaryMcGill University says it will decide next month what to do about its sports teams' divisive Redmen name. Why not call us the Martlets or the Swifts? SportyMcSportFace? I'm offended and hurt. Name the team 'Hard working Italian immigrants who we're given nothing, in fact told to disperse if assembled in too many numbers or be arrested'. I'm sure my grandfather wouldn't be offended and neither would I. You see how ridiculous this has become? Leave it the way it is. I dont think the Russians care.

McGill University report stops short of recommending a name change for sports teamsBut document says renaming should be considered ‘if the harm of keeping a name outweighs the good’ Suzanne Morton is a radical left-wing professor. The fact that she has convinced some that 'Redmen' refers to Canadian Indigenous peoples in this context does not make it so. Stanley Frost showed years ago that the name was originally an homage to Jame McGill's Celtic roots.
