COVID-19 hospital admissions and deaths remain high in province

Nova Scotia will keep its mask mandate in place for public schools as it drops the requirement for most other public spaces on Monday.

“Listening to these respected experts, it is clear that the best decision based on today’s information is to keep masking for now,” Premier Tim Houston told reporters. The change was announced as the province issued its second weekly report on COVID-19 data after ending its daily updates. The report noted continued community spread of the virus and 15 more deaths. Nova Scotia has reported a total of 232 COVID-19 deaths since the pandemic began.

Medical decisions based on politics. Shame. How can you lift a mask mandate and at the same time highly recommend people wear masks in public places. Don’t be so weak you follow others poor decisions. Do what is scientifically right.

Brutal decision

How about keeping the mandates in place until people stop dying from covid?

This is a smart thing to do. tdsb AlexBrownWard12

Bullshit and you know it

Smart

and we wonder why i am desperate to move to NS

Smart in ways given after March Break travels.

Houston is perhaps the only Conservative in this country drserving of respect.

Thanks for protecting the children of Nova Scotia

Whaddya know...someone with some common sense...signed, NB.

From a conservative leader !

of course the virus in NS is far worse than in Ontario

there you go !

Doug Ford should take his ears plugs out and keep masks on the students. It doesn’t say much for the intelligence of the segment of voters that he is trying to woo with this woeful move. He is more interested in getting re-elected than seeing the job through. He just blew it!

Sanity!

Good for them. Our kids have been through enough. Do you realize how much connection comes through facial expressions. Kids have 0 chance of getting extremely sick or dying from COVID 19 and it absolutely astounds me the amount of unwarranted FEAR in people. Leave our kids alone!

And then what? You will be in same boat in April, July, December …

Smart. Stick to science , reduce risk, use layer of un-harmful protection. Logical and shows caring for oneself, family, and community

Smart.

The ‘science’ told them mid April makes sense ..

Makes 100% good sense.
