A motorcyclist killed Saturday evening in a crash in Ventura County was identified as one of the heroes of the Borderline Bar and Grill shooting, in 2018.
Wennerstrom, then a 20-year-old student at California State University, Channel Islands, was credited with helping to save dozens of people when a gunman opened fire inside the Borderline on Nov. 7, 2018. at the time. He estimated he helped about 30 people flee through a window he had broken with a barstool.
