The discovery was made in the Sally’s Lane area of Kilgorman Beach on Wednesday afternoon.
It is understood that gardai and emergency services had been alerted at around 12pm that a woman had entered the water.Gardai say they are investigating "all circumstances" surrounding the discovery and that the results of the post mortem will direct the course of their probe. A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body of a woman in the Sally’s Lane area of Kilgorman Beach, Co. Wexford, this afternoon, Wednesday 23th February 2022.
