A winter storm has begun in North Texas with freezing temperatures, scattered freezing rain, sleet and thunder, the National Weather Service said. Here's what you need to know, via dallasnews:

At 9:22 a.m., Oncor reported 106 customers were without power in Dallas County; 93 were without power in Tarrant County; 120 were without power in Hunt County; one in Collin County; one in Parker County, two in Wise County 15 in Fannin County and two in Denton County.Schools are open today. Several schools districts reminded students and staff to dress in warm clothing.

Dallas ISD tweeted that all after-school activities, practices and programs are canceled Wednesday afternoon. Plano schools tweeted that bus riders should check its website aboutSchool districts said they are monitoring the weather before making a decision about school on Thursday.
