A Pueblo County sheriff’s deputy shot a man dead outside a middle school Tuesday when the pair got into a scuffle and the man attempted to take the deputy’s gun, authorities said.

At about 3:20 p.m., deputies were called to Liberty Point International, a middle school at 484 S. Maher Drive, where a man was knocking on vehicle windows in the area, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
