Hundreds of students of the University of Benin , yesterday blocked the busy Benin–Lagos Highway in a solidarity march with the Academic Staff Union of Universities , calling on the federal government to meet the demands of the lecturers and make learning more convenient for them.
Amadin said: “This is a warning protest to air our grievances and to let the government know that we are watching, and ASUU should know we are watching and if proper measures are not taken to check this strike, the effect will not be nice. We are ready to stay here except the federal government listens to our lecturers.”
This is a welcome development. How I wish all d students in public universities will collectively pick a day to protest & occupy Nigeria in order to drive home ASUU demands which directly affect students in public universities. We require both students & parent to occupy Nigeria.
