Strike: FG Ready To Resolve Outstanding Issues With ASUU – Education Minister

The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, on Wednesday said he is willing to reach an agreement with the striking university lecturers under the aegis of the Academic Staff Union of Universities .

“The last thing that happened was that our committee looked at their demands, but there are renegotiations going on. The Federal Government is ready to meet them on all issues they have raised and if there are so many meetings and the gap is not closing, then I think it’s not the fault of the government.

“A committee is looking at it. Immediately it finishes, the government is meant to announce what it has accepted. Then suddenly, I heard them going on strike. We want a peaceful resolution.”

In 21st century a country like Nigeria 🇳🇬 is going on strike😢

This minister of education should be sacked by now. He is not fit to hold public office, he should know that education is a matter of the youths in the country as a responsible father, u don't joke with our youths and their future.

If the FG is sincere and genuinely interested in doing the needful in our Public Education sector, why allow ASUU to go on strike before coming here to say they're ready to resolve outstanding issues? They don't care, because their own children are not affected by the strike.
