The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso Alumni Association has summoned an emergency meeting.

DAILY POST gathered that the emergency meeting became necessary due to the planned renaming of the university by Governor Seyi Makinde. Our correspondent recalls that Makinde had yesterday announced that he will rename the institution to become Ladoke Akintola University .He said when changed to a conventional university, the university will have the opportunity to offer courses in Arts, Social Sciences and Law among others.

The alumni association, which is the umbrella body of graduates of the university, has, however, said that it has summoned an emergency meeting.Global President of LAUTECH alumni association, Mr. Solomon Onilede, in a statement made available to DAILY POST, explained that the meeting became necessary following yesterday’s announcement by Makinde.

He said that “An emergency meeting of critical stakeholders to include past presidents, Board of Trustees, past and present student union executives, past and present faculty and departmental executives, opinion leaders and other distinguished alumni.“The emergency meeting will be held via zoom,” Onilede added.
