Due to a number of factors, including a 15-hour time difference, stringent public health protocols in China surrounding the Olympics and Team USA competing in recent matchups, Bozek could not be immediately reached for comment.“Megan was on top of the world after Sochi, both physically and mentally,” Patti Williams Bozek said of her daughter.

“She decided she was not ready to walk away from something she loved. She continued to work hard and was determined to represent the United States once again in Beijing,” Williams Bozek told Pioneer Press. Betthauser said the athletics department often references Bozek when speaking with the school’s current student-athletes. Her jersey hangs on the wall in the athletic office.
