The principal of St Kilda Primary School has warned the community of ‘stranger danger’ after a boy was sexually assaulted by a man while walking home. 7NEWS

, St Kilda Primary School Principal Susan Higgins confirmed the incident “involving one of our students as they made their way home from school on Friday”.

“The family is working with police. Most importantly, the child is OK and reported the incident to their parents,” she wrote. “Our children are the most precious little creatures in the world to us and we want to protect them at every cost, whether as a parent or staff member.” Ms Higgins said it was a “timely reminder” to speak to children about ‘stranger danger’ and what they should do if they are “approached by anyone, or if they have feelings of uncertainty/uneasiness”.Anyone who witnessed the incident, with information or CCTV is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or
