Cruz says she understands the necessity of masks to protect against COVID but also urges public health to consider the toll, particularly on special needs kids.
Dr. Shaquita Bell is the senior medical director at the Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic. She says while many kids have no trouble with masks, there can be a negative side. But she and other doctors point out the current rate of infection from COVID is still extremely high. Dr. Bell says she believes it’s not time yet to start discussing dates for lifting mask mandates, given the unpredictability of the virus.

Well if you want your kids to wear a mask then make them wear a mask. For parents that don’t want their kids to be stuck in mask then let them make the choice. If you wear your mask then you will be “protected” Mask in classrooms is ridiculous.

Pretty sure it’s like an 80/20 split, with those wanting masks to stay being the 20%.
Those who wish to wear masks forever are free to do so. Others who have weighed the risk/rewards and decide against wearing the mask should not be forced to.
