Texas AFT announced a survey sent to its 65,000 members found two-thirds had in the last year considered leaving the profession.

– Texas school districts may be facing an impending staffing crisis, warns a union representing school employees across the state.

“It’s been affecting almost every district at this point,” said Cuba. “Not just teacher, but staff shortages.” Texas teachers, the union reports, have an average salary of $57,000, well below the national average of $65,000
