Listen to Chicago’s youth. We’re the ones in the classrooms and we should be involved in making decisions about what classrooms look like right now. I want our cities and our teachers to listen to us and really consider our emotions, health, and safety. That should be a number one priority. Also, people in power need to reckon with the fact that every student, and every school, has different needs.

. The amount of care our schools are given is nothing compared to what the suburban schools have, even though we’re often the most affected by COVID.With COVID, I want people in power to step into our shoes and see that we’re scared too. We’re in these unsafe environments, while students have to go home and potentially infect sick relatives, while so many politicians are online or send their kids to remote school.

North Thurston School Board meeting on 8 Feb at 6pm. Instead of protesting, how about create a solution? No? You’d rather whine avoid a problem than actually do something to fix it. Think about it. The hours spent protesting and making signs could be spent looking for people who need help due to racial abuse or rape. Never should have allowed the teachers to organize them in the first place.

The teachers say they haven't received a pay increase in two years. Good for the teachers. People have expected EVERYTHING from them the last 2 years and they still get paid less than minimum wage when you count the time they spend lesson planning and grading outside of the classroom. Yeah this school district is corrupt. They never hire teachers and nobody knows where the money for teachers go. Unions are all in it together.
