loved, when it was cool to wear American Apparel V-necks and oversized knit beanies, even though it was 99°F at the bottom of South Texas., no skips. It took about two weeks. In that time, I wrote down all the tracks that inspired memories, or I'd forgotten I'd loved, as well as the epiphanies that crossed my mind.it took me back to the person who I was before I could admit to myself that I was gay.
So here's what I learned about life and my past self through listening to my old iPod Nano from the late 2000s:In the same way photos commemorate a moment, music captures an emotion. Old songs unlocked memories I'd completely forgotten, and how I felt during them. The Goo Goo Doll's"Iris" reminded me of a night my first year of high school when we were at my friend Kelsey's house.
The relationship between me and my oldest brother is another testament to the bond music can create. We weren't close, but he's the one that introduced me to bands like Vampire Weekend and Phoenix, leading me to falling in love with the indie/alternative genre and me feeling like I was a really interesting person.— that's a bond that I'll never forget.I still love the genres that I thought I grew out of.
Love this!! I recently found two of my old iPods and ordered a charger cord (lol). Can’t wait to rediscover my early 2000s playlists 😅
