, Laura Erskine - founder of consultancy firm The Parenting Experts - said she’d “definitely” like to see longer school days here as well. She said: “It’s about extending the school day with additional activities that are not academic-related.”

She also noted: “It’s something that would certainly help with the current challenge of working parents trying to adopt the new hybrid model of working remotely… and allow a greater work-life balance in that respect. “Then they’re going home, doing snacks and homework, ferrying them to and from after-school activities… then dinner.

NTBreakfast I feel so sorry for kids these days. All they really want is time with parents & time to play. Instead, parents juggling so many other responsibilities are pushing them into a whirlwind of activities and into childminding until nearly bedtime. We need to reassess our priorities

NTBreakfast School = babysitting service. 😡😡😡

NTBreakfast I would say yes to longer day but needs to be worth it for children especially ones who can’t read and write they need to do practical things a lot of really bright children are destroyed because they don’t understand reading and writing the words just get jumbled

NTBreakfast Why don't you just sell your child if you haven't time to raise and look after him/her.

NTBreakfast How about raise your child yourself 🤦🏻‍♂️
