PALO ALTO – Authorities are searching for a man who entered a downtown Palo Alto coffee shop bathroom and peered into a stall occupied by a woman.
The incident was reported at about 4:45 p.m. Monday at Verve Coffee Roasters at 162 University Ave., the Palo Alto Police Department said in a news release Wednesday. According to police, an investigation revealed the man had been getting coffee at the counter when a woman in her 20s entered the women’s restroom. As she was using the toilet, she heard someone else come into the bathroom and enter the stall next to her. That person appeared to be wearing men’s shoes.
“As she stood up from the toilet, she looked behind her and noticed the suspect’s head underneath the stall looking in her direction,” police said. The man in this surveillance image peered into a bathroom stall occupied by a woman at a downtown Palo Alto coffee shop on Monday, Feb. 1, 2022, according to the Palo Alto Police Department. The woman described the man as Indian and about 5 feet 11 inches tall with a thin build and short, spiked hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with a small white logo on the chest, dark-colored jeans and black running shoes. The man was also wearing a black backpack.
